Garment restyling at ÄTELIER by FRILISA offers those garments a fresh per­spect­ive. In our Berlin atelier, we combine al­ter­a­tions, creative reworking and clothing upcycling. The aim is to develop the clothes you already own into garments you love wearing again.

From wedding dress to even­ing­wear

A wedding dress can become a dress for other special occasions. A different hem, new sleeves or a revised silhouette can transform its appearance. An inherited dress or a long-loved garment may also be adapted to your style today.

What makes sense depends on the material, condition and con­struc­tion. We let the existing garment guide the idea, with FRILISA’s couture eye and respect for its history.

What can change? What must stay?

Perhaps you love the lace, but not the neckline. Perhaps the fabric is wonderful, while the shape belongs to another era. Together, we identify the details that give your garment its character and the places where something new could emerge.

The changes can range from a gentle update to a more extensive redesign. We assess which al­ter­a­tions are ap­pro­pri­ate for the cut and fabric.

Is garment restyling worthwhile?

At your con­sulta­tion, we assess the condition, con­struc­tion and changes you have in mind. Then we discuss what is possible and the work involved. A complex trans­form­a­tion may require con­sid­er­able handwork; part of its value often lies in being able to keep wearing something personal.

Bring your garment and any initial ideas. We can advise on ways to adapt the clothing you already own so you can keep wearing it.
