Fit and freedom of movement for your occasion

A dress should look beautiful and see you com­fort­ably through the day or evening: walking, sitting, hugging and dancing. For musicians, how a dress behaves while performing matters too; at a gala, it is the ease with which you move.

During your fitting, we check support and freedom of movement as well as the silhouette. Straps and bodices should stay securely in place without re­strict­ing movement.

What al­ter­a­tions are possible?

Depending on the dress, we can shorten the hem, adjust straps and sleeves, refine the waist or improve the fit around the bust. With lace, embroidery and layered skirts, we consider how each alteration will work within the original design.

We assess the dress itself to find a suitable approach. This close attention is especially worthwhile with intricate con­struc­tion.

What should you bring to your fitting?

Please bring your chosen shoes and, where possible, the underwear you will wear with your dress. Both affect the length and fit. Let us know the date of your event and any travel plans, too.
